Pay in record time

Visa contactless is the fast, simple and secure way to pay every day. No matter if you’re an Olympian buying a healthy smoothie double-quick, or a commuter craving your coffee in a flash, Visa can help you pay in record time. As a proud Worldwide Sponsor of the Olympic Games, Visa will be the exclusive payment services sponsor at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and the only card accepted at the Olympic Games through to 2020. The games run from February 9 to February 26 – find out more about our Team Visa athletes and how you can follow the action and support the team in PyeongChang.

4 Things You Didn’t Know About PyeongChang 2018

  1. Team Visa will be taking a roster of 43 Olympians and Paralympians from 19 countries to PyeongChang 2018.
  2. The Olympic Winter Games will assemble 2,500 athletes from 90 nations. Since 2000, Team Visa has helped aspiring Olympic and Paralympic athletes pursue their goals, both in and out of competition.
  3. The region will become PyeongChang with a capital ‘C’ for the duration of the games, to avoid confusion with North Korean capital Pyongyang. In 2014, Masaai tribesman Daniel Olomae Ole Sapit mistakenly arrived in the latter on his way to a UN conference in the former.
  4. All the Olympic venues will be Visa contactless enabled at PyeongChang 2018. Athletes will also be showcasing new contactless-enabled wearables, including gloves, stickers and pins, at more than 1,000 terminals across Olympic Winter Games venues.
