Millions of consumers, retailers, businesses and governments look to us to provide the Visa brand, as well as the systems, services and rules that help make electronic transactions happen. The only thing we don’t do is issue the actual Visa cards – this is done by our members.

Using Visa

Our range of cards offers three handy ways to make fast, secure payments:

• Pay now - Visa Debit
  These debit cards link directly to a customer’s current account – making it easy for everyday purchases 
• Pay later - Visa Credit
  Credit cards give cardholders the flexibility, convenience and control they want
• Prepaid
  Prepaid cards let the customer control the amount they spend, while still offering the accessibility and security that comes with Visa

Innovation

Innovation plays a huge part in everything we do. It’s why Ireland can look forward to contactless payments arriving very soon. These are a useful new way of paying for low-value items. Customers simply wave their Visa card in front of a special card reader. Transactions can take less than a second, and you don’t need a PIN – making Visa payments even faster and more convenient.
